Steel products encompass the vast range of forms and shapes into which raw steel is processed to serve as the foundational material for construction, manufacturing, and infrastructure. This transformation begins with liquid steel being cast into semi-finished forms like slabs, blooms, and billets, which are then rolled, forged, or drawn into finished products. These products are broadly categorized by their production method and cross-sectional shape. The two primary families are flat products, including plates, sheets, coils, and strips, which are made by rolling slabs and are essential for automotive bodies, appliances, and shipbuilding; and long products, such as beams, bars, rods, rails, and wire, which are rolled from billets and blooms to create structural frameworks, reinforcement, and machinery components.
